16 Week Challenge Update Call

Let's discuss how your challenge is coming along and ways to stay motivated as we approach the half-way mark. Moderators and co-moderators of the master mind groups should try their best to attend this call. You will be able to listen to a recording of the call if you can't make it.

Date: Thursday, March 18th

Time: 8:00-9:00pm EST

Dial: 718-290-9983 pin 149924#

How would you like to have a 16 Week Challenge Partner who will encourage you along the way? The only requirement is to give each other daily e-mail updates and have a weekly 10-minute call to share your progress.

Send an e-mail to morrisonsbc@gmail.com if you would like to have a 16 Week Challenge Partner. Include "16WC Partner" in the subject area of the e-mail. The "partner" concept does not replace the master mind groups. You can participate in either one or both.

A 16 Week Challenge partner is my way of offering you another layer of encouragement in reaching your goals. Partners will be randomly matched from members of The 16 Week Challenge Ning group.

I look forward to supporting you in this 16 week journey.

Small Business Camp

Hi! I'm Andrew Morrison from Small Business Camp. My calling is to help ordinary people just like you to accomplish the extraordinary within 16 weeks. Your success is possible and necessary!

Listen to a replay of The Leadership Call for The 16 Week Challenge
http://attendthisevent.com/?eventid=11409393

I've assembled a team of professionals and like-minded individuals who will support you on this journey. The only missing ingredient is you! Are you up to the challenge?

In 16 weeks,
What will you create?
How many lives will you touch?
How much money will you make?

We are here to help make your dreams come true!

Your next step is to add a profile photo, share your goals and ask to join or start a master mind group. As a member of the group you MUST be willing to attend a weekly conference call. February 26th is the deadline for new members to join. This will become a private group after that date.

You don't have to join a master mind group in order to participate in the 16 week challenge. Just become a member and share your BIG 16 week goal.

The next 16 week cycle is from Monday, February 1st until Monday, May 24th. The deadline for people to join is week #4 or February 26th.

Where will you be on Monday, May 24th? The actions you take today will determine your future success.

Expect the Best,

Andrew Morrison
Small Business Camp

P.S. Share your BIG 16 week goal by responding to the question in the Forum. No need to start a new discussion.

P.P.S. The groups on this site are reserved for Master mind groups. Select the "ADD A GROUP" feature if you plan to moderate a 16 Week Challenge Mastermind Group. In the group description, you can inform people of the time for your weekly 60-minute call.

Forming a 16 Week Challenge Master Mind Group

Who wants to be the moderator? It will be your job to use the "ADD A GROUP" feature on the top left panel. In the Privacy option, select moderated membership. This allows you to decide who joins your group. Give your group a name and upload an image.

You need to recruit eight (8) to twelve (12) members to your group and host a weekly call.

Pick a regular date and time for your weekly conference calls. For example, you may decide to host your conference calls on Fridays at 8pm. ( Moderator can obtain a bridge line at nocostconference.com - select the one with web control).

Commit to this process for the next 16 Weeks. The moderator will obtain a phone number and access code and e-mail that to everyone.

Create a group on the 16 Week Challenge NING website and invite people to join.

Moderator drafts an agenda for each call. Keep each call to less than 90 minutes.

Give each person a chance to offer a two-minute update.

Select a timekeeper to keep everyone on time.

Close with each person offering the top two things they will get done before the next call.

Scribe keeps track of each person's to-do list and asks them if they got it done during the next call.

Ask each person to join my e-mail list at www.SmallBusinessCamp.com.

Make sure that everyone has a BIG 16 week goal in each of the following areas - Friends/Family, Fun/Personal and Money/Career. Team members should set S.M.A.R.T. Goals that are ... Specific. Measurable. Action-Oriented, Realistic and Time-Bound

Ask your group members to watch following video on SMARTER goals by Coach TC - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fRFra5VY6hI

EXAMPLES

Fun/Personal Goal: "Losing weight" becomes "Losing 25 pounds in 2 months by running 3 times a week."

Money/Career Goal: "Starting a business" becomes "Securing 3 clients who pay a $1,000 a month retainer."

Friends/Family Goal: "Spending time with my family" becomes "Having a date-night with my wife every other week."

Decide on a name for your group (ex. The Transformers).

If your moderator is not comfortable with their role, then take a vote for a new moderator. Keep the vote confidential by selecting one person, who is not running to receive every-one's vote via e-mail.

Get a copy of "Think and Grow Rich" by Napoleon Hill. If you have it, read it again. You could cover a chapter during each mastermind call.

Suggested Agenda

a. Opening question. Give each person one minute to answer. Ask an open-ended question that gives people a chance to learn more about each other. Examples include - What is your best childhood memory? Who is your favorite superhero and why? If you could have dinner with anyone in the world - who would you select and why? What do you want said at your funeral?

b. Updates (2 min. per person) What worked and did not work for you since the last time we spoke?

c. Presentation (5 min. plus 5 min. q&A) A group member or outsider gives a presentation on any topic. The outsider should hang-up at the end of the presentation. The topic should represent a business or personal subject that would be of interest to all of the members. The moderator can ask members to suggest topics via e-mail. Another idea is to offer each member a chance to give a presentation on a business or personal topic that need help with. You close by allowing each person to address the issue raised by simply sharing from their experience. For example, someone may need help preparing for an important sales presentation. After you ask clarifying questions to better understand the presenters needs, everyone then shares their insights and tips when it comes to making a sales presentation.

d. To-Do List. (2 min. per person) Each person mentions that top 2 things they plan to get done before the next call. They also have to mention their progress on the goals they stated at the previous meeting. The scribe writes down each person's goals and holds them accountable during the meeting.

The to-do list that each person states during the bi-weekly call should represent mini-milestones that lead up to the completion of the BIG 90 day goal.

e. Housekeeping. (5 min.) Get feedback on the call. Plan for the next one.

f. Closing - One word close. In one word each person will state how they feel.

(Note: Be flexible with the agenda. During your first conference call, you may want to give each person 3 minutes to talk about their business and goals and 2 minutes for others to ask them questions. This will help people to know more about each other in the beginning.)

Roles:

a. Moderator - Runs the conference calls and obtains the dial-in number from www.nocostconferencecall.com. The web option allows you to record the call for those who may miss it. The moderator should e-mail the agenda to everyone in advance.

b. Co-moderator - Works with the moderator "behind-the-scenes" to give feedback and support. Runs the meetings in the moderators absence.

c. Secretary- Helps to maintain a database of all the members and writes down their top two goals for each week and keeps track of attendance.

d. Timekeeper - Makes sure that everyone speaks during the allotted time. You could press the #1 key to let someone know that time is up. Feel free to give someone more time if you deem it to be necessary.

Seek to keep you group size between 5 and 12 people. Any new members to the group should be first approved by 100% of the members.

All decisions require 100% approval by the members. It will be the moderator's job to always push for a consensus.

Inform everyone to be in a quiet environment during the call and teach them how to mute/un-mute the call.

Language Protocol - Very important you develop a spirit of cooperation, trust and confidentiality. Never tell someone what to do. Simply speak from your experience.

If someone misses more than two conference calls then they are asked to leave the group. They can be reinstated with 100% approval from the rest of the group. A 1/2 absence is counted if you are more than 5 minutes late to the call.

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
1. Can my group calls be only for 30-minutes? That time frame may work for a group with only 4 people. You will need the full 60-minutes to allow everyone in a larger group to participate

2. Do the calls have to be weekly? Yes. A weekly call will help to maintain a sense of community. The calls should be for 16 weeks with open enrollment. As a group, you can decide when people can no longer join.

3. Can we meet in-person? A telephone conversation is easier. However, if you can get 100% agreement and want to have a face-to-face then go ahead and try it.

4. How do you select the moderator? These groups are self-moderated. People who have experience in managing people and who are familiar with technology should step-up and create a mastermind group. Remember to follow the example of the group I created called NOW. Make sure to place the weekly day/time that your group will meet in the description box.

5. Can I use this group to invite my clients? As the moderator, your job is to create a community that encourages each person to pursue and reach their own individual goals. This should not be a focus group or your personal support team.

6. What's the cost? FREE. The only cost is your investment to show up for a 60-minute call over 16 weeks.

7. How can I get people to join my group? More people will join this NING website as I begin to advertise it. Some people will see the start time for your call and want to join. Feel free to invite your friends on FaceBook or send an e-mail to your list. Remember to keep the group size to a maximum of eight people.

8. Why are you doing this? I truly enjoy helping people. Traditional coaching can be an expensive proposition. I wanted to experiment with a self-governing body that regulates itself. Plus, I'm also seeking success stores to include in my upcoming book - Reaching Your Goals in 16 Weeks.

9. Can I take the 16 week challenge without joining a mastermind group? YES, just post your BIG goals on our profile page. It would be great if you were part of a group but I understand how other commitments may prevent you from being on a weekly call.

10. What if attendance in my group begins to dwindle? Always maintain the two-missed calls and you are out rule. This ensures that only serious people show up. If your group consists of only 3 people, you can decide to continue on or join other groups.

11. How do we manage confidentiality? At the start of each call, you should remind the participants that, "Whatever is said on the call stays on the call." A violation of this rule is reason for expulsion from the group. Keep your bridge line confidential as well. No need to post it on your group. There is a feature that allows you to e-mail group members. You could e-mail the bridge line and a weekly agenda for the call.

12. What should we be mindful of? Make sure that there is a spirit of cooperation and harmony. Try your best to keep people within their allotted speaking time limits. Offer encouragement to all participants and stay away from criticizing and condemning people.

13. Do I need to have a name for my mastermind group before I get started? No. You can just call your group TBD. Your members can select the name during the first call.

14. Do I need to have my goals finalized before I start the 16 week challenge? No. Be receptive to feedback from others. You may also change your goals along the way. By week #6, everyone should be firmly set with their goals.

15. Can I join more than one group? No. One weekly mastermind group will require a great deal of your time. You could be invited to serve as a guest speaker to another group.

16. Can I form a group to promote my own agenda? No. The purpose is to help others reach their goals. In order to maintain the integrity of this concept, I have to delete any group that has a different agenda.

17. Should we record the calls? No. People will feel uncomfortable sharing private issues if the calls are recorded.

ATTENTION MODERATORS
We are set to begin the week of February 1st. You have to host a weekly 60-minute accountability call for 16 weeks. You get the pick the time/day of the week that's best for you.

Read the rules that I have posted on the home page. Check out the group I started called "NOW."

1. Pick a name for your group. It should NOT be the name of your company or brand. Select a "generic" name that up to seven other biz owners would find acceptable.

2. Select a weekly day/time. It should be the same time (60-minutes) for the entire 16 weeks. I selected Wednesdays at 7am EST. Post the time you plan to host your conference call in the group's description. Remember to include the time zone.

3. Upload a graphic. I did a Google image search on the word "NOW" to find my graphic.

4. In the privacy option, select moderated membership. This will allow you to approve any new members and keep your content private. Try your best to keep the group size to around 8 people.

5. Feel free to invite people to join your mastermind group.

6. You and the co-moderator should join the Moderator group. I will have a special call for moderators and co-moderators.

7. Get ready to be a source of encouragement and inspiration over the next 16 weeks.

OBSERVATIONS
How are you doing? How is the 16 week challenge coming along?

I realized that many of you still need support in selecting a S.M.A.R.T. 16 week goal. Please review a great video by Coach T.C. at http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fRFra5VY6hI

Here are a few observations:

- My sincere apology for not being clear as to the primary purpose of The 16 Week Challenge. I changed the description on the main page to say ... "Gain the support you need to make at least $10,000 in 16 weeks." No more "BIG" idea in 16 weeks. Several people have become so focused on the BIG idea that they are not focused on the BIG money.

- Based on our nearly 300 members, my goal for all of us is to individually make at least $1,000 each and collectively make $1 million in NEW money within 16 weeks. Read that sentence again!

- In addition, by May 24th, we should each have at least $500 in savings and collectively over 1/2 million dollars in savings. What's the point if you made $10,000 but you simply increased your living expenses and have $0 savings at the end of the 16 weeks. The flat panel TV can wait.

- Notice that my goal for you is between $1,000 to $10,000 plus. Give some thought and set a goal that you feel is more realistic.

- Contracts you had before the start of the 16 week challenge don't count.

- We should all start a 16 Week Challenge savings account. I like http://home.ingdirect.com/. Consider "sweeping" your profits into this separate account on a weekly basis. Read that again! This is super-critical if you plan to have any money to show at the end of the 16 week challenge. Remember, it's not how much money you make but how much you keep that counts.

- Speak with a lawyer to establish at the very least a sole proprietor form of corporation. http://www.irs.gov/businesses/small/article/0,,id=98202,00.html

- Commit to writing in your blog's profile page. Mention your weekly goals, challenges and observations. If you so decide, your digital diary could be a part of the book I plan to write.

- I will be closing this NING network to new members by the end of week 4 (2/26) You should NOT be accepting any new members to your group after that.

- Feel free to modify your goals during the first few weeks, However by week 5, everyone should be clear about their goals.

- I plan to start reviewing everyone's profile pages. If I see that you are not clear about the purpose of The 16 Week Challenge and you just want to be happy then I will send you a warning and delete your profile within 48 hours. I know some of you may think that sounds harsh. My bad that you are just getting to know me. I don't play games when it comes to your success. I have no time for people who can't follow directions. You can join the other group down the street called, "16 weeks of doing whatever we want."

- Please add a photo of yourself. I'm in love with you! I don't want to see your logo, dog, spouse or child! I want to see your beautiful face.

- Give me your name - not your company, nickname or tagline.

- NO soliciting! You are NOT here to sell your services to others. Don't go around making sales pitches on profile pages. A smart web designer would maybe offer some tips on how to improve your website. Just share value and allow others to contact you if they need your services.

- On your profile page, be careful about making your copy hard to read by modifying the color scheme.

- You should only belong to ONE group. I know you want to help people but you should NOT be over extending yourself.

- Do you really have to send me a private e-mail? Post your questions in the FORUM section on the main page. Trust me, other people have the same questions.

- Your group should be as inclusive as possible. No groups should reflect a religious or political point-of-view.

- Our focus is to make at least $1,000 from a NEW project within 16 weeks. I would like to see 16 week goals that reflect how much money you plan to make daily, weekly or monthly. Remember, you do what gets measured. What do you plan to measure this week?

- If you have a problem making money then state how much money you will give away after you make the money.

- Moderators need to make sure that they created their group with the moderated membership in the privacy option. If not, you need to delete the group and create a new one with the proper privacy option.

- Once your group gets to 14 members, please stop accepting members. It's not fair to the rest of the group to have 20 members. As a moderator, you are not trying to change the world. Your cousin Bo-Bo will find his own way. Please just focus on your group.

- Start using Twitter. You can follow me on http://twitter.com/2andrewmorrison. Include the #16wc hashtag and let people know how you are doing with the 16 week challenge. For example, you could send something like - #16wc Week 2 I plan to sell 20 books. Sold 2 today. Need ur help.

- Pay it forward. Help a Brother out by joining the Small Business Camp Network for only $29 per month. I'm doing weekly intensives and creating a massive amount of content to help you reach your goals. Learn more at http://smallbusinesscamp.com/?page_id=269 The price will go up to $37 per month by Friday, February 26th. Sign-up now to lock-into this life-time low-price.
